Shell Rheinland has taken another important step towards reducing CO2 emissions at its Energy and Chemicals Park in Wesseling. In the presence of the Mayor of Wesseling, Ralph Manzke, and the Deputy District Administrator of the Rhine-Erft district, Bernhard Ripp, the company handed over the construction site for the new base oil distillation unit to Kraftanlagen Energies & Services last Wednesday. The new Base Oil Distillation Unit (BODU) will enable the production of high-quality base oils and represents an important milestone in the transformation of the chemical park into a production site for low-carbon products. Kraftanlagen Energies & Services, together with its subsidiary ECM, was awarded the contract to design and build the new plant.
”With today's handover of the construction site (for the base oil distillation unit), we are demonstrating that we are serious about our plans to become climate-friendly and at the same time secure the economic viability of our site. In short, we are creating more value with less emissions
