As part of a sustainable modernisation programme, the Hilton Hotel Frankfurt has commissioned H&R Industrierohrbau GmbH to replace its refrigeration units with a modern system using an environmentally friendly refrigerant.
In total, ten old refrigeration units and pipes on the roof of the Hilton Hotel were replaced with four new, more efficient units. The new environmentally friendly system not only provides efficient cooling, but also helps to reduce the building’s CO2 emissions.
The replacement was carried out in a precisely coordinated heavy lift operation: a 400 tonnes crane lifted the new units onto the 14-storey building, while two lanes of the adjacent elevated road were temporarily closed to ensure the work could be carried out safely.
Thanks to detailed planning, the replacement was completed six hours ahead of schedule. A major factor in this smooth process was the prefabrication of the pipe coils at H&R’s production facilities, which significantly reduced the time required for on-site installation.
With the modernisation of the refrigeration system, the Hilton Hotel Frankfurt has opted for efficient and sustainable technology and is thus actively supporting climate protection.
H&R Industrierohrbau – a subsidiary of Kraftanlagen Energies & Services – supports its customers in implementing sustainable building technology, thus making an important contribution to the energy turnaround and climate protection.
